March 2014

The Quality Inn & Suites Val-d’Or won 3 awards at the regional Tourism Gala “Grands Prix du Tourisme de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue” held in La Sarre on March 16th.

The hotel was awarded in the category “Accommodation 40 to 199 units” rewarding hotels that demonstrate innovation in regards to development of a product or service, marketing and management.  Moreover, Mr. Alexandre Audet, Assistant Manager, received an award in the “Relève touristique” category, and Mr. Alain Houle, Front Desk Agent, received an award in the “Tourism employee” category.

“These recognitions from our colleagues of the regional tourism industry serve as important encouragement for the personnel and shareholders of the hotel, who aim to continually enhance the quality of services so that each of our guests experience an exceptional experience”, says Michael Prince, General Manager of the hotel.

The three laureates may be candidates at the Grands Prix du Tourisme Québécois (provincial level) that will be held in Gatineau on May 14th.  The provincial finalists will be announced in mid-April.

These awards are in addition to the recent nomination of the hotel as a finalist in the 2013 Val-d’Or Chamber of Commerce Gala, awards already won by the hotel such as the “Special Jury Prize” awarded at the 2012 Gala of the Chamber of Commerce of Val-d’Or, as well as “Rookie of the year” and “Spirit of hospitality”, awarded by Choice Hotels Canada in the fall of 2011.
