Alexandre Audet of Quality Inn & Suites Val-d’Or honoured with Leader of the Year
Val-d’Or, QC (October 24th, 2018) – Choice Hotels Canada has announced the national winners of the prestigious APEX Awards (Awards for Property Excellence) at the 2018 Choice Hotels Canada Fall Conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This year, an award was introduced to celebrate an individual who has demonstrated excellence in property leadership. Alexandre Audet, the general manager of Quality Inn & Suites Val-d’Or,received that honour.
This award recognizes how vital strong property leadership is in the evolving and increasingly competitive hotel industry. Nominations from owners came in from across from the country and Alexandre was credited with taking the human resources function to a new level in their hotel. His renewed focus on employee recognition led to a reduction in the turnover rate and the maintenance of outstanding customer satisfaction.
Under Alexandre’s leadership the hotel has earned Platinum Awards each year since 2013, Ring of Honor and Canadian Hotel of the Year award in 2014 and 2018 and International Quality Inn of the year in 2014. He also personally won the 2013 Quebec’s “Grand Prix du Tourisme” in the “Relève touristique”, or “Upcoming Tourism Leader” category. This award was given by the provincial tourism minister amongst finalists from different regions.

About Quality Inn & Suites Val-d’Or:
The Quality Inn & Suites Val-d’Or, opened in 2011, is owned and managed by the Cree Regional Economic Company (CREECO) of Eeyou Istchee and Trahan Holdings of Val-d’Or and operates under the Choice Hotels banner.
